Margaritas and Christmas Decorating.

Well - this alleged "break" has come and gone. OK, I admit - I did ZERO homework. Now I shall pay.

My break was interesting.

I DID get to see my wonderful Moe and hash out life for a bit. She's incredible. I told her not to get eaten by killer antz in Costa Rica next year. She said then I could write my grad school writing sample about it. I said okay.

We spent actual Thanksgiving in Omaha with my brother and sister-in-law and crew. I spent many hours throwing a chew toy for Sadie - that dog does NOT wear out. I then proceeded to kick my brother's ass in Mortal Kombat...until my hand got too tired from pushing all the buttons too hard. And THEN. I made...


Yes. A traditional English Trifle. With a layer of ladyfingers, custard WHICH I made from scratch, beef sauteed with peas and onions... Okay. Maybe not so "traditional". Crumbled gingerbread, pumpking pudding, vanilla coolwhip - repeat. It was SOOOOOO good. After eating too much, we played Life, Operation, and Scrabble. My words were the best - too bad the points sucked. But George kept my feet company on the floor.



Most wonderful of all, I got to see my best friend, who I have not seen since last Christmas - is that possible? I think we shrieked and scared the customers at Baristas. So we went for margaritas where we would not be so distracting. We caught up, talked out life, the future, everything. After getting to know the bartender more than we would have liked, we split with another great friend I hadn't seen since Christmas.

Saturday was spent decorating the house and that ritualistic viewing of Christmas Vacation. Today I drove home through an ice storm. Now, I must go to choir rehearsal. Score. (LOL - I crack myself up...)
