Bumbling fool.

I love my roommate and friends. We had a fabulous time last night in all of our dysfunctional splendor. Laya, Schy, and I cooked dinner. Ok that's a lie. Laya and Schy cooked - I think I set the plates on the table. Then Danny, J, and us lovely ladies had a LUSH dinner - corn on the cob, fresh tomatoes and basil, fried eggplant, porkchops (for the omnivores), and wine and frambois for dessert. Mmmm it was delicious. Real food. It beats chips and salsa and pudding. Ha. I have no idea what all we talked about, but it was pretty awesome. And then, I wrote a paper while tipsy for my sex class.

Life moves pretty fast. 2 cool points if you name that movie before I finish this sentence. Did you make it? So yes, life is flying by me and wearing me out. Class and work are kicking my arse and sleeping habits. I'm pretty sure England was detrimental to my time orginization and utilization. Eh oh well. I think watching Dazed and Confused and A Bug's Life with Laya and J was a much better use of my time than this pathetic paper I just finished. One more week...One more week...

Nighty night loves.

In the words of my wise roommate, Laya, "holy hell in a handbasket". In my wish-I-were-still-in-London words, "bloody hell."

I have had an insane week. I started my new job at the University Bookstore on Monday and have worked everyday since. Sandwiching my job on both ends, are my two summer classes. At this moment, I have just finished a gigantic exam and survived a trip to Wal-mart while RESISTING the urge to take off at full speed down the main aisle, knocking over as many screaming children and indecisive old women as possible.

I'm goin' on break.

Legal in ALL countries.

Lame first post. But apparently it's a big deal. So I turned 21 on Thursday, sufficiently legalizing my consumption of alchohol in ALL countries (that I know of). I was really lacking enthusiasm for my birthday - perhaps because of that year in London where I could already purchase a drink - but between all the people who called and left messages, seeing old friends, going out to Iggy's and Doc's with new friends, and a lovely dinner with my parents in the Haymarket, it was a great day. I cannot say too much for the day AFTER, which was spent in true post-21st birthday style. However, this matter was complicated by the fact that I had my first exam of summer school...which I had the pleasure of studying for while hungover, and TAKING while hungover. Oy. A bit fearful really of Monday when these are passed back.

In actual life, I am all moved in and sorted I think. I love my roommate so much, and our apartment is adorably wicked. My time is pretty well split between class and hanging here - attempting to complete the mad amounts of homework dumped on summer school students. But we have our fun - complete marathons of Project Runway anyone? :) I am absolutely loving my English class - purely composing Creative Nonfiction. And let's face it, how could the Psychology of Human Sexuality be boring? Let's just say the lecture on female and male genitalia was a bit more graphic than your average sex ed discussion... And if you think THAT is fun, check out our textbook. The chapter on STD's (complete with photos) is enough to make me check out local convents and consider embracing celibacy.

And so. This is my life. Nothing special but nothing torturous...aside from this staying-in-one-place, and of all places Nebraska, thing. I'll manage.
